3 Easy Garage Spring Cleaning Tips to Maintain Your Floor

Reading time: 3 minutes

You spend a lot of hours working in the garage and, as such, you want to design a space you enjoy. Along with sleek cabinetry and convenient wall-storage solutions, you’ve transformed the formerly dingy garage into a beautiful room using a Floortex® Floor Coating.

Now that the hard work is done, all you have to do is maintain your garage floor’s spotless and sophisticated look following these simple cleaning steps.

1. Sweep to remove dirt and sand

There’s no way around it — your garage floor is going to get dirty from time to time. Car tires and boots typically track in debris, but you can easily remove the dirt and sand simply by sweeping. Over time, however, the dirt will accumulate and cause floor stains. When this is the case, move on to the next step.

2. Wash and rinse your floor using a gentle, yet effective cleaner

We recommend Scotts Oxi Outdoor Cleaner to wash the floor, as it’s safe to use on Floortex® Floor Coating and leaves a beautiful squeaky-clean car-wash shine. This gentle cleaner won’t harm plants or grass and is both biodegradable and phosphate-free. After applying this effective outdoor cleaner, simply rinse with a garden hose and continue on to the final step.

3. Remove residue using a squeegee

Just like with windows, squeegees are a great tool to dry and remove residue from garage floors. Garage Living sells the 30″ Double Blade Foam Squeegee to make this step easy and efficient.

Garage Living’s environmentally friendly Floortex® Floor Coating is incredibly easy to keep clean, regardless of where you live or the weather conditions you drive in each day. From slush to mud, you can keep your beautiful floor looking like new year after year following these three simple steps.
